General Manuel Belgrano

General Manuel Belgrano is a place in the department of Patiño in northern Argentina. It is located 175 km from the provincial capital Formosa, in the southwest of the province of the same name. In the classification of municipalities in the province it belongs to the municipalities ( municipality ) of the third category. In 1991, the city had only 3,556 inhabitants, the population grew until 2001, which is 23 % to.

The namesake of the city, Manuel Belgrano, took part in the May Revolution and created the Argentine flag. According to him, more places are yet to be named, among others, the Belgrano neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
