General of the Artillery (Germany)

General of Artillery, historically also Feldzeugmeister drawn:

First a general rank in the former German land forces ( Imperial Army, Reichswehr and Wehrmacht ), namely the regular second-highest rank under the Colonel General. Cavalry officers were transported in accordance with the general of the cavalry, infantry officers to General of Infantry.

In the army there was also still the equivalent Ranks General of Infantry, General of Panzer troops, the Engineer General, General of the mountain troops or general of the paratroops. Today in the Bundeswehr corresponds to the rank of Lieutenant-General the traditional rank General of Artillery. In the NPA, there was a rank no more, the general of artillery here corresponding to colonel general.

The Salutation Mr. General or Colonel is common; the Title Mr. General of Artillery is unusual because it is no rank.
