Gennadi Gerasimov

Gennady Ivanovich Gerasimov (Russian Геннадий Иванович Герасимов; born March 3, 1930 in Jelabuga; † 14 September 2010 in Moscow) was a Russian diplomat.

Gerasimov was in 1986 in the Soviet Union foreign policy spokesman of Mikhail Gorbachev and his foreign minister, Eduard Shevardnadze. He is one of the personalities of German unity. After the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1990 as a diplomat Gerasimov went to Germany.
