Gennes is a commune in the department of Maine -et -Loire in the Pays de la Loire in the arrondissement of Saumur and capital ( chef-lieu ) of the Canton Gennes.

The Loire town of 32.52 square kilometers located on 29-98 meters above sea level and has 2148 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park Loire -Anjou- Touraine.
