GEO Group is an American company based in Boca Raton, Florida, which specializes in the operation and management of private prisons and psychiatric institutions.

The company operates in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and South Africa and currently operates over 118 institutions worldwide. In these institutions currently about 81,000 inmates are served by more than 17,000 employees. The company was founded in 1984 and is one of the largest U.S. service providers in the prison industry.
