Geoffrey Adams

Sir Geoffrey Doyne Adams KCMG ( born June 11, 1957) is a British diplomat.

Life

Geoffrey Adams studied at Eton College, where he was a King's Scholar, and at Oxford University Islamic history and Middle Eastern politics. He joined the Foreign Service in 1979. He was employed in Saudi Arabia, France, South Africa and Egypt. From 2001 to 2003 he was Consul General in Jerusalem. From 2003 to 2005 he was private secretary to the British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw. Then he held office from 1st April 2006 to March 2009 as ambassador to Tehran. He heads the department zurteit policy at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

He is a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George ( CMG), and birthday on April 21, 2008 by Elizabeth II, he was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George ( KCMG ).
