Geoffrey Robinson (bishop)

Geoffrey James Robinson ( born August 10, 1937 in Richmond, New South Wales) is an Australian clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church and retired Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney.

Life

The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and Patriarch of Cilicia, Grégoire -Pierre XV. Cardinal Agagianian, ordained him a priest on 20 December 1961, by which he was incardinated into the clergy of the Archdiocese of Sydney. Pope John Paul II appointed him Auxiliary Bishop on January 23, 1984 in Sydney and Titular Bishop of Rusuca.

The Archbishop of Sydney, Edward Bede Clancy, donated to him on March 8th the same year, the episcopal ordination; Were co-consecrators Luigi Barbarito, Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Australia, and James Darcy Cardinal Freeman, retired archbishop of Sydney.

From his office he resigned on 15 July 2004.
