Geoffrey Rowell

Douglas Geoffrey Rowell ( born February 13, 1943) is an Anglican Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe.

Douglas Geoffrey Rowell was educated at Winchester College and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. In 1969 he was ordained a priest in the Church of England. He was then chaplain of Keble College, Oxford from 1971-1994, in 1981 as a canon of the cathedral of Chichester and as Examining Chaplain to the Bishop of Leicester ( 1979-1990 ) and the Bishop of Winchester ( 1991-1993). Before Rowell at St. Margaret 's Church was appointed to succeed John William Hind Bishop of Gibraltar on 18 October 2001 and took possession of his diocese on November 1, he was Suffragan Bishop of Basingstoke (1994-2001 ). As Bishop of Gibraltar Rowell is not only responsible for the Anglican Church of England in Gibraltar, but for all Anglicans throughout the European mainland. In addition, Rowell assistant bishop of the Old Catholic Church in Germany and Coadjutor Bishop Dušan Hejbal the Czech Old Catholic Church.
