Geography Markup Language#ISO 19136

ISO 19136 is a standard from the family of ISO standards for geographic information (ISO 191xx ). It was created by merging the specifications of the Open Geospatial Consortium to Geography Markup Language (GML ) with the ISO 191xx standards. It is since September 2009, as German DIN EN ISO 19136.

Whereas previous versions of GML ISO compliant were not (GML 1, GML 2) with GML version 3.2.1 brings the complete manufacture of ISO compliance. This means in particular that GML now represents an implementation of ISO 19107.

The coding process itself ( how do I do to represent structured geospatial information in an XML file? ) Corresponds to the standard ISO 19118 - Encoding. In addition, among other things, the following additional ISO standards have been met:

  • ISO 19103 - Conceptual Schema Language (units of measure, basic types ),
  • ISO 19108 - Temporal schema (temporal geometry and topology objects, temporal reference systems),
  • ISO 19109 - Rules for application schema ( features )
  • ISO 19111 - Spatial referencing by coordinates ( coordinate reference system ),
  • ISO 19123 - coverages.
