Georg Ackermann (athlete)

Georg Ackermann ( born July 13, 1972 in Gernsbach ) is a former German long jumper.

He won the German championship in 1993 and 1995. Already at the Junior European Championships in 1991 in Thessaloniki, he had won the bronze medal. At the European Indoor Championships in Paris in 1994 Ackermann jumped to eighth place. The following year he was fourth at the World Championships in Gothenburg. In the Universiade, which was held in the same year in Fukuoka, he won the silver medal. He jumped 8.21 meters the highest rate of his career and had the same width as the winner Kirill Sossunow, who won due to the second- best distance.
