Georg C. F. Greve

Georg Christof Florian Greve ( born March 10, 1973 Helgoland) is one of the official spokesman of the Free Software Foundation Europe.

Greve was released in 1993 for the first time in contact with free software. He is since 1998 the European Speaker of the GNU project, and since 1999 author of the monthly column Brave GNU World about free software. In 2001 he initiated the establishment of the Free Software Foundation Europe, the first Free Software Foundation outside the U.S., and was until 2009, in which he did not run for the office, its president. Since 2010 he is CEO of Kolab Systems AG, Switzerland. Greve has a university degree in physics.

Awards

For his contributions to open standards and free software Greve has been awarded the 2010 Federal Cross of Merit.
