The Georg- Cantor -Gymnasium is a secondary school in the city of Halle ( Saale) with scientific and mathematical focus and officially recognized mathematical and scientific excellence center. Currently, it houses 514 students and 60 teachers. Moreover, it is for the students of secondary education at a day school.

Location

The school building is located since 2007 in the city of Halle in the building which housed the Torgymnasium to 2005. After the merger of Torgymnasiums with the Southtown school at the site of the latter further renovation work was carried out in the building in the Torstraße and designed the schoolyard completely new. The student dormitory in Halle- Neustadt is with the use of tram and bus less than 30 minutes.

Recording

Mathematics

The gymnasium is located entirely in public ownership, but supported by its own patrons.

Each year, the Georg- Cantor -Gymnasium to a particularly dedicated students the so-called Cantor Award, which will be honored with a special tin cup at the Cantor Prize ceremony.
