Georg-Christof Bertsch

Georg -Christof Bertsch (born 30 May 1959 in Seeheim -Jugenheim ) is a German design consultant and university lecturer.

Life

Bertsch studied art history at the University of Berlin and founded in 1988 together with Matthias Dietz, the first German design management office. In 1990, he co-wrote with Barbara Frederick the ambience Euro Design Guide, the first German lexicon of contemporary design. He was president of design horizons eV from 1990-95. In 1997, he launched, together with Hans Hoger, Christian Möller and Markus Weisbeck, www.euro design guide.de, one of the first German design platforms on the Internet. In 1995 he founded together with his wife Annette, the Bertsch Bertsch & Corporate Design Corporate Communications GmbH. 2005 Bertsch.Brand Consultants was founded, which offers consultations for complex retail branding and design processes.

In 1996, he was with Hans Hoger curator of Attitudes for the Next Millennium at the International Aspen Design Conference. Bertsch was from 2004-2011 Vice Chairman of the Academy of Fine Arts - Staedelschule portico eV, Frankfurt; He is a member of the Board of Trustees Staedelschule this organization since 2011. Since 2005 he is a permanent Visiting Professor of Design Management in Design Master Course of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. Since 2006, Bertsch has been a guest lecturer at the Istanbul Teknik Üniversitesi. On 27 May 2008 he was elected as the first German to the Board of Governors of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design; 2011 re-elected.

2005 Bertsch visiting professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Applied Sciences Dusseldorf (Peter Behrens School of Architecture ) and 2007 in the Department of Product Design College of Design in Offenbach am Main. There he founded together with Petra waiter the International Project Platform Offenbach, a cross-disciplinary working ship for sustainable design. On 9 December 2008, he was elected by the Senate of the College of Design, Offenbach, honorary professor for life. Together with Prof. Peter Eckart and Dr. Beate kemfert he conceived in June 2010 the first symposium on " The Future of the car? ". On 10 September 2010 Bertsch was appointed pavilion at the Shanghai Expo as Head of Global Water Group Cumulus organization in the UN. Since September 20, 2011 he is member of the Board of Trustees of World Cultures Museum, Frankfurt am Main. Bertsch is a Rotarian (RC Frankfurt Peace Bridge ).
