Georg Fischler

Georg Fischler (born 3 July 1985 in Hall in Tyrol ) is an Austrian luger.

Life

Georg Fischler Sports soldier and lives in Absam. The trained body technicians toboggan since 1992 and starts for the RV Swarovski Halltal Absam. It forms with Peter Penz a luge doubles. Both were successful in the early 2000s at junior level, among other things, she won gold at the Junior World Championships in Calgary. Since the season 2004/ 05 they start at the Luge World Cup. They finished the season as the 17th of the overall World Cup in the following season, they finished 14th Place and 2006/ 07 they were ninth. In the second race of the season 2008/ 09 in Sigulda Penz / Fischler went as third place for the first time on the podium. The FIL World Luge Championships 2005 in Park City ended Penz / Fischler as 16, 2007, she occupied the eighth place in the doubles and won the bronze medal with the Austrian team. In the 2006 European Championship in Winterberg they were Eleventh. In 2009 she won the Silbermedailie at the FIL World Luge Championships 2009 in Lake Placid in the team competition and were eighth in the race of the two-seater. In Altenberg the double occupied in December 2009 with second place to her best World Cup result and had to give only the overall World Cup winners of the season, André Florschütz and Torsten Wustlich, beaten it.

At the European Championships 2012 in Paramonovo the double Penz / Fischler won the title. The Austrian team Penz / Fischler take part in the 2014 Winter Olympics.

In 2007 he received the Golden Medal of Merit of the Republic of Austria.
