Georg Fresenius

Johann Baptist Georg Wolfgang Fresenius ( born September 25, 1808 in Frankfurt am Main, † December 1, 1866 ) was a German physician and botanist specializing in algae. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Fresen. ".

Life

As of 1826, Fresenius studied medicine at the Universities of Heidelberg, Würzburg and Giessen, Giessen PhD in 1829 and settled in Frankfurt as a practical physician, which he remained until his death, even despite all the sideline.
