Georg Quedens

Georg Quedens (* 1934 in Northville on Amrum ) is a German photographer, non-fiction author and home and naturalist.

Life

Georg Quedens lives on Amrum since his birth. Nature and history of the North Sea island characterize his work. Since about 1955 he has been active in his profession and has since authored numerous publications on Amrum and other North Frisian Islands. His first picture books from 1961 in the series The Little Wolff- band image of the Wolff- Verlag in Flensburg. Later he published extensive books, among others in the series, the world of islands and islets of the Breklum publishing Breklum and publishing of his brother Jens Quedens on Amrum. His photographs are in many decades - published magazines and calendars - even national. He wrote for 30 years the chronicles Amrum Amrum 1983 to 2012, which together comprise approximately 4,500 pages and was published in a circulation of around 1,000.

Furthermore Georg Quedens lectures on various topics relating to the North Sea. Usually the topics " Amrum the island " loud, " North Sea and Wadden Sea ", " Amrum in the good old days ", " North Sea Mordsee ", " Island hopping " and " birds ".
