Georg Rasch

George William Rasch ( * September 21, 1901, † 19 October 1980) was a Danish statistician. Rasch was Professor of Statistics at the University of Copenhagen from 1962 to 1972.

He proposed in 1960, the Rasch model that has found widespread use in the probabilistic test theory and, for example, the PISA studies is based.
