Georg Wahl
Georg Wahl ( born February 21, 1920 in Cosel ( Upper Silesia ), † November 4, 2013 in Kirchberg SG) was several years Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna and a dressage rider and trainer.
Life
On the stud Cosel, was born on the choice and on which his father worked as a driving instructor, he learned mostly bareback ride. In 1939 he was drafted into the cavalry of the army, where he had as manager the later world -renowned horse expert Hans Joachim Köhler from Verden. Köhler organized for a change to its troops 20 km behind the front, a dressage show, was in the choice of the best. Present at this tournament also Alois Podhajsky, the election was a year later brought to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. Through his extraordinary talent and flair for horses choice was allowed at an early age to take part in the performances. After a short stay at the front in Hungary, he returned to the Riding School.
On one of the tours of the Spanish Riding School in Switzerland learned choice Fredy know knee. Choice went to Circus Knie 1951 and worked there for two years. With Fredy Knie choice rode a highly regarded Pas de Deux.
1955 took over the city election riding school in Berne. There he met Christine Stückelberger know.
1967 brought Hans Handler him again as Chief Rider at the Spanish Riding School back.
Election was in 1971 with his highly successful student Christine Stückelberger back to Switzerland and lived with her until his death in Kirchberg in St. Gallen later.
Choice devoted himself entirely to the promotion of its student Stückelberger and their former top horse garnet, a couple dressage history wrote. According to team silver at the European Dressage Championships in Copenhagen in 1974 followed in 1975 Championship gold in the individual competition, and in 1976 finally Olympic gold in the individual event, but 1977 times European gold medal and 1978 World Championship gold in Goodwood.
Other successful students are Hermann droughts, regulators Straumann, Kurt Capellmann (father of Nadine Capellmann ), Elisabeth Max-Theurer and Ulrich Lehmann.
Georg Wahl was married twice. With his first wife Maria choice he had four children, two more daughters followed from the second marriage. Choice and Christine Stückelberger were the last 45 years of his life a couple.
