Georg Wannagat

Georg Paul Wannagat ( born June 26, 1916 in Brzeziny; † 7 September 2006 in Kassel) was a German lawyer. He achieved fame through his numerous publications on the social law and in his capacity as President of the Federal Social Court.

Career

Georg Paul Wannagat, was born as the son of evangelical pastor Albert Ludwig Wannagat and his wife Lucie Adeline, nee Jahn. Wannagat stepped into his career one of the Württemberg Upper Insurance Office. In 1954 he moved with their construction in the social jurisdiction, first as Landessozialgerichtsrat at the Social Court of Baden- Württemberg in Stuttgart. In 1962, he became president of the Higher Social Court of Hesse and 1969 President of the Federal Social Court. From this office he resigned in 1984 from retirement.

His scientific career has taken in the years 1965 and 1967 to honorary professorships at the University of Tübingen and the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.

In the field of social legislation initiated Wannagat 1969, "Judge week the Federal Social Court " in Kassel.
