George A. Bagley

George Augustus Bagley ( born July 22, 1826 in Watertown, New York, † May 12, 1915 ) was an American lawyer and politician. Between 1875 and 1879 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

George Augustus Bagley received an academic education. He studied law. After receiving his license to practice law in 1847, he began practicing in Watertown. In 1853 he gave his occupation as a lawyer and went after the production of iron. He was 1865-1868 Supervisor of Watertown. During this time he held the post in 1866 as President of the Village. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1874 for the 44th Congress Bagley was in the 22nd electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Ellis H. Roberts on March 4, 1875. He was re-elected once and then retired after the March 3, 1879 from the Congress of.

After his conference time he returned to the manufacture of iron. He died during the First World War in Watertown and was then buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
