George A. Kasem

George Albert Kasem ( born April 6, 1919 in Drumright, Creek County, Oklahoma, † 11 February 2002 in West Covina, California ) was an American politician. Between 1959 and 1961 he represented the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

George Kasem visited the John H. Francis Polytechnic High School in Los Angeles until 1938. During the Second World War he served between 1941 and 1945 in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After the war, Kasem his education until 1949 with a degree at the University of Southern California continues. After a subsequent law degree from the same university in 1951 and was admitted to his lawyer, he began to work in this profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career.

In the congressional elections of 1958, Kasem was in the 25th electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Patrick J. Hillings on January 3, 1959. Since he has not been confirmed in 1960, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1961. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives George Kasem worked 1978-1984 as Commissioner for the Municipal Court in West Covina. There he is on 11 February 2002 and died.
