George E. Sangmeister

George Edward Sang Champion ( born February 16, 1931 in Frankfort, Will County, Illinois; † October 7, 2007 in Joliet, Illinois ) was an American politician. Between 1989 and 1995 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

George Sang Master attended the public schools in Joliet Township and then 1949-1951 the Joliet Junior College. During the Korean War he served in the years 1951 to 1953 in the U.S. Army. He then continued to 1957 continued his education at Elmhurst College. After a subsequent law degree from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago and his 1960 was admitted as a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. In the years 1961-1963 he was a justice of the peace in Will County. From 1961 to 1964 he worked there as a magistrate. After that, he was prosecutor in the same district. This post he held 1964-1968. Simultaneously he hit as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. From 1972 to 1976, for song deputy in the House of Representatives from Illinois; 1976 to 1987 he was a member of the State Senate. In 1986, he unsuccessfully sought the nomination of his party for the office of Lieutenant Governor of Illinois.

In the congressional elections of 1988 for song in the fourth electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of the Republican Jack Davis on January 3, 1989. After two re- election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1995, three legislative periods. Since 1993 he represented there as a successor to Frank Annunzio the eleventh district of his state. In 1994 he gave up another candidacy.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives George Sang champion again practiced as a lawyer. He died on October 7, 2007 in Joliet leukemia.
