George F. Moore (lieutenant governor)

George F. Moore ( born March 9, 1861 in Lewisburg, Ohio; † May 24, 1938 in Seattle, Washington ) was an American politician. Between 1897 and 1899 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Idaho.

Career

1868 was George Moore with his family to Kansas, where he attended the public schools. After that, the family moved in 1877 to Colorado, where George assisted his father in the freight business. Later, he was until 1891 also in mining and other industries operate. Since 1891 he lived in Wallace ( Idaho), where he worked in the furniture industry. Politically, he was a member of the People's Party, which then merged into the Democratic Party.

In 1896, Moore was elected to the side of Frank Steunenberg for Lieutenant Governor of Idaho. This post he held between January 4, 1897 January 2, 1899. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. About his time after his resignation from the post of Lieutenant Governor is in the sources nothing survived. He died on 24 May 1938 in Seattle.
