George F. Senner, Jr.

George Frederick Senner Jr. ( * November 24, 1921 in Miami, Arizona, † October 6, 2007 in Sun City, Arizona ) was an American politician. Between 1963 and 1967 he represented the third electoral district of the State of Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years

George Senner visited until 1940, the Miami High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed in the South Pacific. After the war he continued his education with a law degree from the University of Arizona. After his 1952 was admitted to the bar he began to work in his hometown of Miami in this profession. From 1952 to 1954 he was also deputy attorney of this city. Between 1954 and 1957 Senner District Attorney in Gila County and from 1957 until 1963 he was a member of the Arizona Corporation Commission. In the meantime, he was also chairman of the commission.

Political career

George Senner was a member of the Democratic Party. In the congressional elections of 1962, he was elected as its candidate for the newly created third electoral district of Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington. After it was confirmed two years later in this office, he was able to exercise the mandate in Congress between January 1963 and January 3, 1967 3. In the elections of 1966 he was defeated Sam Steiger, the candidate of the Republican Party. After the end of his time in Congress be Senner withdrew from politics. He again worked as a lawyer and died in 2007.
