George Fenton

George Fenton (* October 19, 1950 when George Howe in London ) is a British composer, primarily for film and TV productions, but also for the theater.

Life

As a teenager, Fenton attended the prestigious St Edward's School in Oxford. Earlier in his career he was still working a short time as an actor, in 1971, he wrote his first film score for Private Road and played a supporting role in this film. From 1974 he was engaged, among others, for the incidental music for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre and the Riverside Studios. In 1982 he succeeded with the film music for Gandhi the commercial and professional breakthrough in the movie business.

In Germany Fenton is best known as a composer of the mirror TV theme music.
