George Heriot
George Heriot (* 1563, † February 12, 1624 ) was a goldsmith in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was initially trained as a goldsmith by Anne of Denmark, wife of King James VI. appointed by Scotland, then in 1601 as a goldsmith of the king himself as James the English crown was ( then known as James I ), followed him Heriot as a goldsmith, jeweler and banker to London. Heriot donated among other things, a hospital in Edinburgh.
According to him, James Watt and the Heriot -Watt University is named in Edinburgh.
