George Howard, 6th Earl of Carlisle
George Howard, 6th Earl of Carlisle, KG, PC ( * September 17 1773 in Castle Howard, Yorkshire, † October 7, 1848 ) was a British nobleman and politician.
Life
George Howard was the eldest son of five children of a politician Frederick Howard, 5th Earl of Carlisle ( 1748-1825 ) and his wife Lady Margaret Caroline Leveson - Gower ( 1753-1824 ), third daughter of Granville Leveson - Gower, 1st Marquess of Stafford, and his first wife Lady Louisa Egerton.
George Howard was First Commissioner of Woods and Forests and later Lord Privy Seal in the Tory government of George Canning and Frederick John Robinson, 1st Viscount Goderich. After the Ministry Wellington had resolved in 1830, joined Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey to the top of a new, which to " parliamentary reform, reduction of state loads and non-interference in the affairs of foreign countries " pledged. Under the administration of George Howard was again appointed Lord Privy Seal.
On March 21, 1801 married Sir George Howard at the Devonshire House in London Lady Georgiana Dorothy Cavendish ( 1783-1858 ), a daughter of William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire and Lady Georgiana Spencer. From the common connection twelve children were born:
