George Manners, 11th Baron de Ros

George Manners, 12th Baron de Ros, (* 1470, † October 27, 1513 ) was an English nobleman.

Life

George Manners was the nephew of the 11th Baron de Ros, whose daughter and co-heiress Eleanor de Ros had his father, Sir Robert Manners married. Born around 1470, he inherited four years after the death of his uncle in 1512 and the title was the 12th Baron de Ros. He was since about 1490 to Anne, daughter of Sir Thomas St. Leger, married. He died on 27 October 1513th

Political and military career

On September 30, 1497 during the expedition against Scotland, or shortly before, he was knighted, accompanied Henry VII in 1500 to Calais at his meeting with Philip the Fair. Then he met Catherine of Aragon on the St. George's Field. It was proposed by Lord Herbert in vain for the Garter. He was a member of the Peace Commission for Surrey in March 1512, an envoy of the king to inspect the Army on 2 May 1512 and participated in the siege and surrender of Tournai part in the war against France, before he fell gravely ill.
