George Nooks

Prince Mohammed ( George Nooks; * around 1958 in Kingston) is a Jamaican reggae singer.

Life

George Nooks started his musical career in the church choir where he discovered his talent. Later he was at his school concerts, trying to establish himself in talent shows and landed his first hit with Forty Leg Dread in the 70s ( as Prince Mohammed ). Nooks emigrated in the late 70s by the United States for a break in the music business.

Nooks in 1994 gained great popularity with its single Come Back I Do not Care / Bad Minded People On his two-pronged career. He ended up still more hits and even managed under two different names at the same time on the charts to be ( as Prince Mohammed with Forty Leg and George Nooks with Tribal War).

In 1997, he got three Tamika Reggae Music awards in the categories Crossover Artist, Outstanding Male Artist and Vocalist of the Year.

Appeared in 2001 with his biggest hit God Is Standing By, which was recorded in 2000, on the same album.
