George R. Roberts

George Rosenberg Roberts ( born September 14, 1943 in Houston, Texas) is an American entrepreneur. Roberts is one of the founders of the U.S. financial firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR ). He is a cousin of Henry Kravis. With assets of approximately $ 2.5 billion (as of 2006) it is guided by the magazine Forbes 292 instead of the ranged men worldwide.

Roberts was born in Houston, Texas, the son of a Jewish family. He attended Claremont McKenna College, where he graduated in 1966. After Roberts went to the University of California, Hastings Colleg of the Law, where in 1969 he reached his graduation.

A large part of his fortune comes from the sell-off company by KKR. Particularly well known is the case of the former U.S. company RJR Nabisco. In the book and film Babarians at the Gate by Bryan Burrough and John Helyar Roberts is a main character.

Roberts was married and has three children from this marriage.
