George Radanovich

George Purdy Radanovich ( born June 20, 1955 in Mariposa, Mariposa County, California) is an American politician. Between 1995 and 2011 he represented the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

George Radanovich visited in San Luis Obispo until 1978, the California Polytechnic State University. He then worked for some time in the banking industry and was active in the wine. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Republican Party. Between 1982 and 1986 he was a member of the Planning Commission in Mariposa County; since 1985, he was its chairman. Then he sat from 1988 to 1992 in the local county council. In 1991 he held the chair here. In 1992, he ran unsuccessfully for even the U.S. House of Representatives.

In the congressional elections of 1994 was Radanovich but then in the 19th Election District of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Richard H. Lehman on January 3, 1995. After seven elections he could pass in Congress until January 3, 2011 eight legislatures. In this time the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001, the Iraq war and the military mission in Afghanistan fell. Radanovich was a member of the Committee on Energy and Commerce as well as in three of its subcommittees. He was considered a relatively conservative MP.

In 2010 he gave up another candidacy. With his dead wife in the same year Ethie he has a son.
