George Sweigert

George Harry Sweigert ( born February 2, 1920 in Akron, † 23 February 1999 in Fort Wayne ) was an American inventor.

George Wayne served as a radio operator in World War II. He is considered the inventor of the cordless telephone, for which he received a patent in 1969 and was a licensed amateur radio operator (call sign N9LC ).
