George Thorogood
George Thorogood ( born February 24, 1950 in Wilmington, Delaware) is an American blues-rock musician.
Life and career
Thorogoods musical idols are Elmore James, Hound Dog Taylor, and Chuck Berry. Although he reached a large number of fans from the 1980s, he never received the recognition of the Blue purists. Originally baseball player, he chose the music, after he had attended a concert with John P. Hammond. In 1973 he founded in Delaware his band The Destroyers. Soon she went to Boston, where they performed regularly in Blue clubs.
His first album, Better Than the Rest appeared 1974. 1977 came the breakthrough with his second album, George Thorogood, which he had recorded with his band " The Destroyers ". 1978 followed the Move It On Over album with the same name hit.
During the 1980s and 1990s, Thorogood recorded some of his most famous tracks on, including Bad to the Bone ( in the movies Christine, Terminator 2, The Parent Trap (1998 ), On Major Payne and the television series Married with Children and Eureka used ), I drink Alone ( from the album Maverick), You Talk Too Much and If You Do not Start Drinking, I'm Gonna Leave.
With the beginning of the 1990s were his record sales, but he is still an important part of the club scene, and his concerts are still bringing large crowds in motion.
