George Turman

George Turman (* 1928 in Missoula, Montana, † December 9, 2008 ) was an American politician and 1981-1989 Lieutenant Governor of Montana.

Turman studied at the University of Montana. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army. Turman began his political career as mayor of Missoula ( 1970-1972 ).

In 1980, he candied as running mate of Ted shrinkage for the office of Lieutenant Governor of Montana. Served in this office Turman from 1981, the next seven years. In 1988 he resigned prematurely. After that he was appointed by shrinkage in the Northwest Power Planning Council. The office of lieutenant governor was provisionally to Gordon McOmber.

Turman was married and had five children, three daughters and two sons.
