George Ziets

George Ziets is an American game developers. Among his best known works include the expansion Mask of the Betrayer of computer role-playing game Neverwinter Nights 2, and the action role-playing game Dungeon Siege 3

Career

Training and entry into the games industry

George Ziets graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in psychology and spent the later 1990s on a Graduate School. He studied psychology and film and earned a master's degree from the University of Maryland, before turning to a career in the gaming industry. Ziets first known publication in the gaming industry was an article entitled The Mightiest of Dragons for the birthday issue # 158 of Dragon Magazine in 1990. 2001 he secured his first job in the games industry at the Westwood Studios, where he was the author of the short-lived sci-fi MMORPG Earth & Beyond worked. 2004 Ziets of Turbine, Inc. was hired and worked as a designer on The Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online.

Change to Obsidian

2006 moved to Southern California Ziets and got a job as a designer at Obsidian Entertainment. He was hired during the development of computer role-playing game Neverwinter Nights 2, and was appointed lead for the first expansion to Neverwinter Night 2 entitled Mask of the Betrayer for Creative after the completion of the game. Ziets was mainly responsible for the creative direction of the add -ons, including the design of the characters and the plot. Mask of the Betrayer was released in 2007 and received mostly positive reviews, have been praised among others, the plot and narrative elements.

Ziets left Obsidian 2008 and spent a year at ZeniMax Online Studios, 2009 returned but again obsidian back and took over the role as Creative Lead for the action role-playing game Dungeon Siege 3 and its download expansion Dungeon Siege 3: Treasures of the Sun.
