Georges Boucher

John George "Buck" Boucher ( born August 19, 1896 in Ottawa, Ontario, † October 17, 1960 ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played for the Ottawa Senators, Montreal Maroons and Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League.

Career

Boucher started his sporting career as a halfback on the football team Ottawa Rough Riders, after three years he moved to ice hockey. There he started as a striker in the Ottawa City League in the burghs. For the season 1917/18 he joined the NHL for the Ottawa Senators.

With the Senators of the Left shooter won four times the 1920-1927 Stanley Cup in 1928, he joined the Montreal Maroons. Until his career end of 1932 for the Chicago Black Hawks Boucher graduated 457 NHL games, but he scored 122 goals and 62 assists. After his playing career, he was active as a coach for the Senators, the Boston Bruins, St. Louis Eagles and the Blackhawks.

Buck Boucher fell ill with cancer in 1954, three weeks before his death in 1960, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. His four brothers Frank, Joe, Bobby and Billy were professional NHL players.
