Georges Mathieu

Georges Mathieu ( born January 27, 1921 in Boulogne -sur -Mer, † June 10, 2012 in Paris) was a French painter. He was considered one of the main representatives of Tachism.

Work

Mathieu's paintings are mostly non-representational, determined by the speed of the painting compositions. The emergence of his paintings inspired by the method of Japanese calligraphy, which can be characterized by meditation, concentration, improvisation and speed.

He has not changed after the first successful sale of his paintings his style. The commercial played in his painting, although Tachism was actually a significant art by the viewer, probably a major role.
