Georges Rigal

Georges Rigal ( born January 6, 1890 in Paris, † 25 March 1974) was a French swimmer and water polo player.

Rigal took for the first time at the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912, where he was able to qualify in 100m freestyle while for the final round in the discipline, but then there was a chance. He was also in the water polo team, but was eliminated in the first round after a 2:7 against Sweden.

At the Olympic Games in 1924, he again took part with the French national team in water polo, where they moved after victories against the United States, the Netherlands and Sweden reach the final again. There they met Belgium, he defeated 3-0 with his team-mate Paul Dujardin, Henri Padou, Albert Deborgies, Noel Delberghe, Robert Desmettre and Albert Mayaud. This gold medal was the only of his career.
