Georges Schwizgebel

Georges Schwizgebel ( born September 28, 1944 in Reconvilier, Switzerland ) is an animator, who has already won several awards for his works.

Life

Schwizgebel was born in 1944 in the French speaking part of Switzerland. In the years 1960-1965 he studied in Geneva at the École des Beaux -Arts et des Arts Décoratifs. After working for an advertising agency he founded in 1971 together with Claude Luyet and Daniel Suter, the GDS - studio, where he created little animation films and showed responsible for the graphic design of posters and promotional materials.

1983 Schwizgebel spent a year at Fudan University in Shanghai to study the Chinese language. From 1986 to 1995, followed by several exhibitions in Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Tokyo, Osaka, Paris and New York. In 2002 he won the Swiss Film Prize for La jeune fille et les nuages ​​. His animated film L' Homme sans ombre ( The Man Without a Shadow ) from 2004 has received many awards.

Schwizgebel works without computer technology and mostly alone. For a second film he painted twelve pictures, which he needs for a six- minute film up to four years.
