Georgi Kaloyanchev

Georgi Todorov Kalojantschew (also written Georgi Todorov Kaloyanchev, Bulgarian Георги Тодоров Калоянчев; born January 13, 1925 in Burgas, Bulgaria, † December 18, 2012 in Sofia) was a Bulgarian actor.

Life

Kalojantschew studied acting at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts " Krastjo Sarafow " in Sofia and graduated in 1952. Subsequently, he joined the ensemble of the National Theatre, and came to the State Theater of Satire later. His screen debut was in 1951 in the film Kalojantschew Утро над родината / Utro nad Rodinata (t: Morning on the home ) by Anton Marino Malevich and Stefan Syrtschadshijew. His breakthrough came the following year in the film champion in all subjects. For his starring role in the thriller manhunt at night Kalojantschew was awarded the actresses Prize at the 4th Festival of Bulgarian film. He has appeared in over 60 feature films.

Kalojantschew received numerous awards, including the 1959 Dimitrov Prize, in 1962 the title of Honored Artist of the People's Republic of Bulgaria and 1967 the title of People's Artist of the People's Republic of Bulgaria in the course of his career. He was elected in 2007 Welikite Balgari under the 100 largest Bulgarian history.
