The Georgian national ice hockey team represents the National Hockey Association of Georgia in hockey at international competitions.

History

The Georgian national ice hockey team was in April 2010, their debut in two friendly matches against the national teams of South Africa and Armenia respectively in Yerevan (Armenia ), as part of their preparation for the hosting of the group B of the World Championship of Division III. In both games, Georgia defeated, especially against hosts Armenia could not keep the Georgians and lost the game with 1:22.

Before these two friendly matches was the only occasion on which a Georgian selection played an international match, in March 1962 the Spartakiade in Sverdlovsk, as they met selections from Lithuania, Kazakhstan and Armenia. However, the teams were not official teams, as the Soviet republics were represented by the Soviet national ice hockey team.

In October 2012, the team first participated in an official IIHF tournament, qualifying for Division III of the 2013 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. After three defeats they finished with a goal difference of 1:28 in last place. At the Ice Hockey World Championship for Men 2014 one enters the Division of III.
