Georgia Music Hall of Fame

The Georgia Music Hall of Fame is an American hall of fame that honors significant annual musicians of all genres from Georgia.

History

The Georgia Music Hall of Fame was founded in 1979. The first two shots were awarded during the "Georgia Music Week " in Atlanta to Ray Charles and Bill Lowery. Since then, every year in different categories and award prizes honored artists recording. Since 1983, the induction ceremony on television is transmitted.

In September 1996, the Georgia Hall of Fame moved to Macon, Georgia. At the opening occurred stars such as Little Richard, Mike Mills and Bill Berry of REM, the pips, Travis Tritt and Martha Quinn. The building of the Hall of Fame was expanded in 1999 and also contains a museum with documents, recordings and instruments as well as other exhibits.
