Georgijs Pujacs

Georgijs Pujacs ( born June 11, 1981 in Riga, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian ice hockey player standing since July 2013 when Dinamo Riga in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Georgijs Pujacs began his career as a hockey player in his hometown, where he for the HK Pārdaugava Riga in the Latvian Hockey League, as well as the HK Riga was in the East European Hockey League from 1996 to 1998 depending on a season long active. After another year in the Latvian capital, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the ninth round in 1999 when a total of 264 players from the Boston Bruins, for whom he never played, however. Instead, the defenders ran in the 1999/2000 season for the Rochester Mustangs in the Junior League United States Hockey League, as well as the professional team Anchorage Aces in the West Coast Hockey League on. After he started the following season in HK Vilki OP Riga Latvia in his home, he left the club after just six games again. He then got a contract with HK Liepaja Metalurgs, with whom he won the Double in 2002 from Latvian Championship and East European Hockey League. In the season 2002/ 03 he was again with Liepaja Latvian champion.

The majority of the 2003/04 season was Pujacs at Örebro HK HockeyAllsvenskan, the Swedish second division, under contract. Then he returned to North America where he ran aground in the season 2004/ 05 for the Elmira Jackals in the United Hockey League. In the following season, in turn, links the shooter of 2000, with the HK Riga in the Belarusian Extraliga. From 2006 to 2007 he played for Moskovskaya Oblast Chimik in the Russian Super League, before moving to HK Dinamo Minsk Belarus in the 2007/ 08 season.

In early November 2007, he returned to the Super League and was taken from the HK Lada Togliatti under contract. The following summer, the Latvian was ordered from HK Lada Togliatti in the squad for the newly formed Continental Hockey League, but changed during the season 2008/ 09, the beginning of January 2009 to the Latvian league rivals Dinamo Riga. For the 2009/10 season Pujacs signed a contract with HK Sibir Novosibirsk. In the following two and a half years, he has played more than 130 games KHL for Novosibirsk, before he left the club in January 2012 and moved to HK Avangard Omsk.

Internationally

For Latvia Pujacs participated in the U20 Junior B World Cup 2000, as well as the A World Championships in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 in part. In addition, he was in the squad of Latvia at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and qualifying for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
