Georgios Karatzaferis

Georgios Karatzaferis ( born August 11, 1947 in Athens ) is a Greek politician and leader of the Greek party Popular Orthodox Synagermos ( LAOS ).

Biography and political career

Karatzaferis worked from 1969 as a radio and television journalist. In 1990 he founded the television TeleAsty.

From 1993 to 2000 Karatzaferis was a member of the Group of the New Democracy ( ND) in the Greek Parliament. In 2000 he was expelled from the party. In response, he founded the party LAOS. From 2004 to September 25, 2007 Karatzaferis was a member of the European Parliament. He belonged to the faction of independence and democracy. In addition, he was until 2012 a member of the Greek Parliament, but missed his party in the parliamentary elections in May and June 2012 the re-entry.
