Georgsdorf
Georgsdorf is a municipality in the district of Bentheim in Lower Saxony. It was named after King George V. (Hannover ) because he founded the village church.

Geographical Location
George village is located north of Nordhorn on the north-south channel and the Coevorden - Piccardie channel. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde New house, which has its headquarters in the city of New House.

The George Strand local council shall be composed of eleven women council and councilors who were last elected in the municipal elections of Lower Saxony 2011:

Mayor
Current Mayor George village is John Scholten ( CDU), who was re-elected in November 2011. Previously Willi Beckert was mayor until 2007.

- The landmark Georgsdorf is a windmill type Galerieholländer. It was built in 1875 and is a brick building with Reeteindeckung.

The Highway 31 carries about 10 km east past the church.
Economy
By 1964, the number of low- accommodated oil drilling in Georgsdorf field increased steadily, ² extends the productive area of about 16.5 km above the districts Osterwald, Old Piccardie and Georgsdorf. Georgsdorf quickly developed into one of the largest oil fields in Germany.
2011, the solar park Georgsdorf, a ground-mounted photovoltaic system, built on a conversion area of 60 ha. The rated capacity of 24.7 MW solar park is the largest of its kind in Lower Saxony.
