Georgy Pushkin

Georgi Maximowitsch Pushkin (Russian Георгий Максимович Пушкин; * 21 Januarjul / February 3 1909greg in Malaya Konopljanka, Smolensk province, .. † April 2, 1963 in Moscow) was a Soviet diplomat and politician.

Pushkin, previously ambassador in Budapest, was dated 4 November 1949 to 31 May 1952, the first diplomatic representative of the USSR in East Berlin. Between 1952 and 1954 he served under the Foreign Ministers Andrei Vyshinsky and Vyacheslav Molotov as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. In 1954, the diplomatic mission in the GDR was elevated to the rank of a message and Pushkin appointed as " Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR in the German Democratic Republic and the High Commissioner in Germany ". Between 1959 and 1963, Pushkin was deputy Andrei Gromyko among foreign minister.
