GEOS (software)

GEOS (Global Effects Online System) is an IT -office and settlement system of securities with an emphasis on Straight Through Processing (STP). The main components of GEOS ( administration of financial instruments and contracts and position management ) cover the entire value chain in the securities business - from the securities order on securities clearing and settlement to the processing of corporate actions (eg, payment of a dividend).

Manufacturer of GEOS Software Daten Service (SDS ), headquartered in Vienna in the T- Center, a 100 % owned subsidiary of T-Systems.

Its customers include HSBC Trinkaus, Raiffeisen Austria, Bank Austria, BAWAG PSK, UniCredit Group, UniCredit Tiriac Bank in Romania and the Banque et Caisse d' Epargne de l'Etat in Luxembourg. In Austria, the securities settlement market is covered about 80% of GEOS.

History

Came out from the GEOS software EOS ( " Effects Online System"), which was developed in the 1980s by the Austrian Schoeller Bank and offered after the company SDS to other banks. The development of GEOS began in 1993, in 1998 the system was first used by a bank in operation.
