Geovanni Deiberson Maurício Gómez ( born January 11, 1980 in Acaiaca ), short Geovanni, is a Brazilian footballer. He plays most of his time attacking midfielder, but can also be used as a winger for both sides.
Club career
Geovanni began his career in 1997 with Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte. Already früg certified him the Brazilian football experts a great talent. From 1998 to 1999 he was loaned to América Mineiro and convinced there. He scored one goal in 15 games. According to this loan, he was a regular for his favorite club from Belo Horizonte.
FC Barcelona

SL Benfica

After he had a very successful time at Benfica, he announced his contract in 2006 for family reasons to return to Brazil. Overall, he was in 114 games for the Portuguese active, scoring 18 goals.
Return to Brazil
Once in Brazil waited over 1,000 fans on the new man at Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte. He signed a one -year contract. After he had settled his family problems, returned after a year back to Europe.
Manchester City
In July 2007, he completed a trial with Portsmouth, but then decided yet for Manchester City. In his first game he was able to score a goal. There, however, he could not convince and was released after one year.
Hull City
On 5 July 2008, he moved to Hull City. He scored against Fulham that very first Premier League goal in the club's history. At the end of the season, he scored the most goals at Hull City. In September 2009, he extended his contract until 2011. At the beginning of the season 2009/2010 he got off to a very good start by scoring four goals in seven games. Despite this good performance, he broke his contract by mutual consent on July 5, 2010.
San Jose Earthquakes
On August 16, 2010 Geovanni was presented as new player of the San Jose Earthquakes. He is the first player of the club that wins the contract as a "designated player". On 5 September, he made his debut in Major League Soccer and scored a goal and an assist in the game against Houston Dynamo.
EC Vitória
On 30 January 2011 he signed a two -year contract with EC Vitória, who played at this time in the Brazilian Série B.
National
His only previous use in the Brazilian national football team he had on 12 July 2001, in the first group match the team in the Copa America 2001, against Mexico.
In the Summer Olympics 2000, he also belonged to the squad of the Brazilian team. In all four games he was on the court.
