Gerald L. Eberlein

Gerald L. Eberlein ( born May 5, 1930 in Berlin, † 12 August 2010 in Pöcking ) was a German sociologist and professor emeritus at the Technical University of Munich.

Life and work

Eberlein first studied physics and zoology, then psychology, philosophy and sociology. He worked as an assistant at the Social Research Centre at the University of Münster in Dortmund and taught after his habilitation at the TU Berlin, first at the University of Saarbrücken, then in Munich.

His research areas were mainly cultural, scientific and economic sociology, also anomalistics. He was, inter alia, Member of the international Society for Scientific Exploration and co-founder of the German Society for anomalistics.

Most recently, he was scientific adviser of Nicolas gasoline Foundation to promote education in the fields of cultural history of Judaism and the history of medicine.
