Gérald Tenenbaum

Gérald Tenenbaum ( born April 1, 1952 in Nancy ) is a French mathematician and writer.

Tenenbaum studied at the École polytechnique, received his doctorate in 1978 with Jean -Marc Deshouillers and since 1981 has been professor at the University of Nancy I ( Henri Poincaré ), where he is at the Institut Élie Cartan.

As a mathematician, he is concerned with analytic and probabilistic number theory. His publications include Paul Erdős.

In 1976 he received the Prix Gaston Julia, 1985, Albert Châtelet medal and 1999 with Michel Mendès France the Prix Paul -Émile Doistau Bleeds de l' Information Scientifique of the Académie des sciences.

His novel L' Ordre des jours ( éditions d' Héloïse Ormesson 2008) received the 2008 Prix Erckmann - Chatrian.
